As the echoes of strife rumble in the distance, an outlaw figure approaches. His ancestors once called the Midlands their home, but the blessed light of grace was lost to his people and they were cast out of the realm. They are the Lightless, and they have returned to reclaim the title of Elden promised by legend.

This is the world of ELDEN RING. Become Lightless and explore the Midlands. You´ll ride across vast grasslands, gallop across rolling hills, and climb to the top of rocky crags on the back of your ephemeral steed to discover a world teeming with life and danger.

In the vast fields where your journey begins, mythical creatures roam the wastelands, unimaginable horrors lurk in the bogs and marshes, and all manner of wandering soldiers and warriors wait to hunt down the unsuspecting. Timid creatures nibble on the sweet grass or sneak through the undergrowth.

The few inhabitants who have not gone mad or hostile try to survive near the ruined cities destroyed by the Searing. If you help them, they may offer you the answers you seek. Above them all, set in usurped lands where traps, secrets, and guardians abound, the demigods—corrupted lords, once members of a noble royal family—rule their domains with the ruthless power bestowed by the shards of the Elden Circle.

The teachings of the lost graces—if you find them—will give you clues to reclaim these lands from their clutches by sword and spell, though you don´t have to follow their path.

Or if you prefer, Delve into the complex and bloody history of the Searing and uncover the long-forgotten secrets of the demigods and their kin. All these paths and many more are possible.

Ultimately, your journey will be defined by your own desires. The more ambitious your goals, the greater the challenge. If you decide to claim the Midlands as your own, you will need to fight, of course.

And of course, you could die.

But you will return to fight again.
