- BLOODHOUND (Technological tracker): Known across the Outlands as one of the greatest game hunters on the Frontier – Bloodhound´s identity is a mystery wrapped in layers of rumours: fabulously wealthy, a bloodthirsty murderer, a Goliath whisperer, a former slave, half-bat and a dozen other things depending on who you ask.

- CAUSTIC (Toxic trapper): Scientist Alexander Nox previously worked at Humbert Labs - the Frontier’s leading manufacturer of pesticides - where he worked day and night developing new gases. To make sure they worked, however, he needed to test them on more than the lab´s inert tissue samples - he needed something living.

- GIBRALTAR (Shield fortress): The son of two SARAS (Search and Rescue Association of Solace) volunteers, Gibraltar has always been skilled at getting others out of dangerous situations. However, he only began to understand the value of protecting others when he and his boyfriend got trapped by a deadly mudslide.

- LIFELINE (Combat medic): Once the child of wealthy war profiteers, Ajay Che left home when she learned of her family heritage. enlisting in the humanitarian Frontier Corps to help communities instead. She’s since devoted her life to helping others and joined the Apex Games to fund the Frontier Corps with her winnings.

- MIRAGE (Holographic trickster): The youngest of four brothers, Mirage perfected the art of fooling around to get attention. The one thing he took seriously was the Holo-Pilot technology introduced to him by his engineer mother. Even when his brothers went MIA during the Frontier War, Mirage continued to develop his holo devices.

- PATHFINER (Forward scout): A MRVN (Mobile Robotic Versatile eNtity) modified to specialise in location scouting and surveying, he booted up decades ago in an abandoned laboratory with no idea who created him or why. With only his MRVN designation to hint at his identity, Pathfinder set off in search of his creator.

- WRAITH (Interdimensional skirmisher): A whirlwind fighter, able to execute deadly attacks and manipulate spacetime, Wraith awoke in a detention facility some years ago with no memory of her previous life. Guided by whisperings in her mind, she harnessed her newfound powers to escape the facililty and search for answers.

- OCTANE (Adrenaline junkie): The bored heir to Silva Pharmaceuticals, Octavio took to performing death-defying stunts for fans online - a pursuit that wound up costing him his legs. With help from Ajay Che, however, he managed to find bionic replacements and with his new-found mobility decided to enter the Apex Games.

- WATTSON (Static defender): Daughter of the Games’ lead electrical engineer, Natalie Paquette discovered her calling at a young age, becoming a prodigious engineer who was eventually commissioned to build the Apex Games’ Modified Containment Ring. After her father passed, she made new friends and took her skills inside the arena.
