Edge 830 is a computer for cyclists created by Garmin. This model tracks training dynamics: jump, jump distance and suspension time, among others. The screen size is 2.6 ”with a resolution of 246 x 322 pixels.
Some of the elements of the cyclist computer that incorporates this element is the alarm that works for group assistance and to send the location in times of emergency. You can also send messages to other cyclists when they train the group. It has compatibility with radar and Varia lights. For greater tracking of the maps, Garmin Cycle Map is preloaded that informs about navigation alerts and notifications about the next turns.
The odometer is customizable by downloading free apps, data fields and widgets directly from the Connect IQ store. The battery life is 20 hours by activating the GPS function and extends up to 40 hours with the activation of the battery saving mode.

In my opinion, the Garmin Edge 830 is the most practical bike computer of all Garmin. The surcharge for touch seems a bit high, but it is absolutely worth it, since switching with the buttons while driving is unwieldy like on the 530. The size is perfect and it stays firmly on the handlebars. The battery life is great and the device works flawlessly and pairs immediately with the peripherals. I am completely satisfied and can only warmly recommend the part for all bikers, whether on a racing bike, gravel or MTB. TOP!

The EDGE 830 works well in terms of extensive bike and health features as well as for Navigation. Delivery by TradeInn in collaboration with PostNL in 3 days and flawlessly, with good information about status! Pairing with the sensors that I bought with my second-hand racing bike went without a hitch. The screen is large enough and is easy to read in sunlight, even with Polarized cycling glasses. Sounds eg in case of "off track" are clearly audible. I notice that the GPS quickly realizes that you are 'on track' and does not bother about "skipping" a Waypoint.

The screen is a pass. It has a great resolution. The Climb PRO feature. If you have previously downloaded the route. It is of great help when you have to face a port as it informs you where you are passing and the hardness of the ramps. It allows you to set alarms for food and drink. I had a Garmin 830 that was giving me problems with the battery and I decided that the best option was to buy a new one, that's how hooked I am to this thing. Garmin Connect took care of copying my profiles from the old section to the new one, which saved me a lot of time. However, there are aspects to improve: the possibility of replacing the battery, simplifying the loading of maps. I have also found that sometimes my profiles or the options of certain applications were modified without me having done anything.

The Edge 830 is robust and feature rich, with its battery life being the pinnacle one. However, the mechanical buttons are a bit rough to operate and, more importantly, the navigation performance when aligning with or re-routing a course is extremely slow. But with the Hammerhead "blunder" of partnering with SRAM, hence leaving Shimano users in limbo without Di2 support on their Karoo units, the Edge 830 seems to be best-in-class right now.
